Position Summary
The Business Development team is hiring a Market Research Analyst to improve market share by leading research efforts, completing competitive analyses, leading proposal debriefs, and facilitating meetings. The Market Research Analyst is responsible for working with the Business Development team members, including sales and marketing, to drive revenue generation, and grow market share through sales, marketing and proposal responses.

We’re looking for someone with a combination of superior organizational, research, and business intelligence skills, plus the ability to be productive in a virtual company. The successful candidate will have experience conducting research and taking complex data sets and synthesizing them into clear and actionable recommendations, have superior writing skills, be responsive to time-sensitive and deadline-driven proposal efforts, be flexible in meeting multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The Market Research Analyst is responsible for developing our BD strategy for specific opportunities using information from research, debriefs, competitive analyses, and best practices.

Market Analysis and Segmentation
  • Work with the Marketing Team and BD VPs to collect and review data from disparate sources to identify key insights to inform our business development strategies
  • Inspect, cleanse, transform, and model data to discover useful information, inform conclusions, and support PK’s decision making
  • Work with the Marketing Team and BD VPs on competitive analysis
  • Facilitate discussions and meetings to deliver results of analysis in conjunction with BD VPs and other SMEs
Business Development Research and Proposal Support
  • Understand the proposal process and work with the Proposal Team and BD Team to research future opportunities and provide data to support decision making
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to research current opportunities to identify competitors, pain points, and value propositions to share with proposal writers
  • Work with the proposal team’s lead writers to incorporate differentiators and win themes into proposals
  • Review RFP responses and provide input to the lead writers to improve response content around strategy
  • Performs internal proposal debriefs with the BD team
  • Work with the Proposal Center Vice President to request available competitor proposals, scoring evaluations, and the awarded contract amount after an award
  • Complete Debrief and Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests, if needed Analyze competitors' proposals, with the assistance of SMEs, and lead debrief presentations
  • Provide feedback the Business Development Team and Proposal Team to improve our response strategy
  • Designs and facilitates training based on debriefs
  • Bring best practices to the Business Development team and Proposal team

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated proficiency in persuasive writing using conversational English
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing disperse data sources and creating
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with internal and external parties
  • Must have the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness
  • Must have the ability to work at a computer for extended periods
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Government procurement experience
  • Knowledge of one or more health and human services programs
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must have the ability to travel to client sites
  • Ability to work from a home-based office
  • Must have the ability to work at a computer for extensive periods of time
  • Must have the ability to speak on the telephone for extended periods of time
  • Must have the ability to read (paper or computer screen) for extended periods of time
  • Must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other Company equipment
  • Must have the ability to be self-driven, work independently and as part of a team
