We are seeking an actor or actress for our K-12 educational videos!

The role:
We are looking for an actress or actor who can get on the level of school age kids and make teaching videos fun and engaging! The main focus will be making videos aimed for high schoolers, but you may have some assignments for our K-8 platforms, as well. Please check out our learning sites, Miacademy.co and Miaprep.com, as well as the Miacademy Learning Channel on YouTube.
Scripts are written and doctored by teachers, but actresses and actors would be encouraged to inject their voices as they see fit. The role may include doing the voices for various animated characters.
The actress or actor will also need to self-tape the videos (potentially in front of a green screen). The right candidate will have an area in their home where they can set up the necessary equipment to be able to film, including lighting and sound management. However, no video editing skills are required; our internal video editors would edit the footage.
Beyond acting, we are looking for strong team players who can contribute to other areas of content creation. Do you have a passion and deep knowledge in an area that you would be excited to teach kids? Are you active on Instagram, Tik Tok, or YouTube and interested in producing marketing content on these platforms? All of these are a plus!
Who you are:
- You have the ability to get on the level of kids of varying ages to make learning fun and engaging.
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can handle constructive criticism.
- You're able to set up and take down lighting and video equipment as needed to film in your home.
- You're independent and self-motivated. You can hold yourself accountable in a remote environment.
- You are proactive. You'll make a habit of seeking out ways to make the content better.
- You value trust & integrity. You do what is right, don’t cut corners, and are open about your work.
- You have consistent availability of 10-20 hours per week.
- You are looking for a 2+ year commitment.
Added bonus points:
- Access to a green screen studio or teleprompter experience is a plus, but we can also loan equipment to you
- Local to Chicago area preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
